About the Event

SPECIAL EVENT:  "The Goldwater Institute Today" with Matt Beienburg, Director of Education Policy at the Goldwater Institute.

His presentation will cover Arizona's  Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA), which Goldwater pioneered in our state more than a decade ago, placing  monies that would otherwise go toward a given child’s public education into an account that parents can use to customize their child’s education experience to best meet their unique needs. The ESA program has gone from serving 100 students in 2011 to more than 10,000 today, allowing more than one million students to be eligible for the program.

You can find out more about what HB 2853 does—and doesn’t—do for Arizona families at this meeting.

Matt also serves as director of the institute’s Van Sittert Center for Constitutional Advocacy. Published in local and national outlets, Matt’s work focuses on promoting educational freedom, parental rights, and greater civic appreciation of America’s founding principles.

LouAnn Sedgwick will discuss the AZ Free Enterprise Club, what it represents, along with any other action items the grassroots can take part in and how they can get involved. She will also touch on Prop 309 Arizonans for Voter ID and will have palm cards and yard signs that people can take with them to educate others. There is also a program to help candidates with donations, AZ Red Wave, that she will also share about.

LouAnn is the Development Director for The Arizona Free Enterprise Club. LouAnn has worked as a Grassroots organizer for the last 30 years. Her experience encompasses a variety of arenas from political to various community-based groups such as the FIRE Corp, school site councils and leadership teams, softball boards, various school groups like VEX and FIRST Robotics, Girl Scouts and junior shooting programs.

Friends and Family are welcome to attend.  Please RSVP on our website.
